What Makes the Perfect Labor Day BBQ?

One last summer hurrah.”

——-

Late Labor Day is all about kicking back, firing up the grill, and enjoying one last taste of summer with family and friends.

So, what makes the perfect cookout?

  • Start with the classics: burgers stacked high with all the fixings, hot dogs and sausages dressed however you like, and maybe some ribs or chicken if you want to show off a little.  Don’t forget veggie skewers for color and flavor – they’re just as good sizzling over the fire.
  • On the side, you can’t go wrong with potato salad, crisp coleslaw, and grilled corn brushed with butter and a hint of spice.  Add watermelon slices to keep it light and refreshing, and you’ve got summer on a plate.
  • For drinks, keep it easy -c old lemonade, sweet tea, a cooler full of beer and seltzers, and sparkling water for balance.  And of course, finish strong: peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream, brownies or cookies to grab on the go, or even an ice cream sundae bar if you really want to go out with a bang. That’s the kind of backyard feast Labor Day was made for.

Labor Day only comes once a year – so fire up the grill, fill your plate, and let summer go out in style!
